Sydney CBD: Frequently Asked Questions
Do you collect from Sydney CBD high-rise buildings?
Yes. The vast majority of our Sydney work is in CBD high-rise buildings. We pre-book loading dock access and goods lift windows with your building manager, supply vehicle registration and driver details in advance, and our employees can complete your building's security induction or visitor registration as required. Most major CBD corporate buildings are already familiar with ITC vehicles and personnel.
Can you collect after-hours or on weekends?
Yes. After-hours collections from 5pm onwards and Saturday morning collections are routinely scheduled, especially for trading floors, banking operations, and government agencies that cannot accommodate business-hours disruption. Sunday and overnight collections are available for major decommissions or regulator-driven destruction deadlines. Pricing for non-standard hours is quoted at the scoping stage.
What suburbs and postcodes does Sydney CBD cover for ITC?
Our Sydney CBD service area covers postcodes 2000, 2001, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. Postcode 2000 is the CBD core including Barangaroo, Martin Place, Wynyard, Circular Quay, The Rocks, Pitt Street, George Street, and the Macquarie Street legal precinct. 2001 is Sydney South. 2007 covers Ultimo. 2008 covers Chippendale and Darlington. 2009 covers Pyrmont. 2010 covers Surry Hills and Darlinghurst.
Are your data destruction services suitable for APRA-regulated entities?
Yes. Our chain of custody documentation, ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified destruction workflow, and serialised Certificates of Destruction satisfy the documentation requirements applied to banks, super funds, insurers, and other entities regulated under APRA Prudential Standard CPS 234. Our process is regularly engaged for decommissions at major financial services tenants in Barangaroo and Martin Place.
Can the destruction be witnessed on-site at our CBD office?
Yes. Our mobile destruction service brings Blancco erasure stations, hard drive shredders, and degaussers to your premises. This is suitable for organisations where information classification or internal policy prohibits data-bearing assets leaving the building. Same-day Certificate of Destruction is provided. See our on-site data destruction services for scope.
How quickly can ITC respond to a Sydney CBD request?
Standard CBD collections are typically scheduled within 3 to 5 business days from quote acceptance. Same-day or next-business-day response is usually available for urgent decommissions, regulator-driven destruction deadlines, or data centre incidents, subject to capacity. Quote turnaround on initial enquiries is within one business day.
Do your vehicles and staff have building security clearance?
Yes. ITC operates branded vehicles with all driver details, vehicle registrations, and insurance documentation available on request. Employees can be inducted into your building's security and WHS systems, including pre-registration in visitor management systems and supply of photo identification. For high-security buildings, full security clearance documentation is provided in advance.
What documentation do we receive after a CBD collection?
Every CBD engagement includes a signed asset manifest at the point of handover, an asset disposition report after processing showing what was reused, refurbished, or recovered, a serialised Certificate of Data Destruction per data-bearing device, and a Certificate of Recycling for the overall job. These satisfy compliance requirements under APRA CPS 234, Privacy Act 1988, and most corporate ESG reporting frameworks.
Is collection from Sydney CBD free?
For qualifying business volumes within Sydney CBD, yes. The collection itself has no cost. Many CBD engagements also generate buyback value on remarketable assets, which often offsets or exceeds any project cost. Minimum service fees apply only to very small volumes. After-hours collections, on-site witnessed destruction, and security-cleared collections are quoted separately. Request a quote for your specific scope.
Where does my CBD e-waste actually go after collection?
Collected equipment is transported under chain of custody to our North Rocks NSW facility. Each device is logged by serial number on arrival. Working assets are triaged for buyback and refurbishment. Data-bearing devices undergo certified destruction. Remaining materials are streamed to certified downstream processors aligned with AS 5377:2013 for recovery of metals, plastics, glass, and rare earth elements. Zero landfill outcome, with full documentation of the disposition path.
