Collection and chain of custody

Equipment is gathered from a drop-off point or collected from a business site. For business equipment, this is where a documented chain of custody begins: every asset is logged, ideally by serial number, so it can be tracked all the way to destruction. The shredded mix passes through a chain of separators. What Is Recovered From Your Equipment

The reason recycling is worth all those stages is what comes out at the end. Electronic equipment is, in effect, a rich ore.
